About the Fairy Meadows

Fairy Meadows

Fairy Meadows is a dreamscape nestled deep within Pakistan’s majestic Gilgit-Baltistan region. Renowned for its mesmerizing views of Nanga Parbat — the world’s ninth-highest mountain — this enchanting meadow has rightfully earned its name. Locally known as "Joot," Fairy Meadows offers lush green fields surrounded by pine forests, sparkling streams, and breathtaking vistas of snow-capped peaks.

For trekkers, nature lovers, and adventurers, Fairy Meadows is nothing short of paradise. Its tranquility, paired with stunning natural beauty, makes it one of Pakistan's most sought-after travel destinations and a favorite among both local and international tourists.

Best Time to Visit Fairy Meadows

Because of its high altitude and rugged terrain, access to Fairy Meadows is highly seasonal:

  1. Spring (April to June):
  2. The valley awakens from winter slumber, and the landscape bursts into vibrant greenery. Snow still clings to the higher peaks, creating a magical contrast.
  3. Summer (July to September):
  4. This is the peak tourist season. The meadows are at their greenest, temperatures are pleasantly mild, and trekking routes are most accessible.
  5. Autumn (October):
  6. The meadows transform into shades of gold and red. Though colder, autumn is quieter and offers spectacular foliage.
  7. Winter (November to March):
  8. Fairy Meadows is inaccessible due to heavy snowfall. The road from Raikot Bridge is closed, and extreme weather makes visiting impossible.

Best time to visit: Late May to early October — particularly June, July, and August — are the most favorable months for visiting Fairy Meadows.

Entry Tickets and Fees

To preserve the natural beauty and maintain facilities, a small fee structure is applied:

  1. Entry Fee (Raikot Bridge Checkpost):
  2. Pakistani Nationals: PKR 100–300 per person
  3. Foreign Tourists: PKR 1,000–1,500 per person
  4. Jeep Ride to Tattu Village:
  5. One-way fare: PKR 6,000–8,000 per jeep (shared among passengers)
  6. Camping Site Charges (Optional):
  7. Camping area entry: Around PKR 500–800 per person (depending on camp management)

Prices may vary slightly depending on seasons and management updates.
